Each of our students have either a tablet or a Chromebook assigned to them for use while at school. Teachers and students use these devices to enhance learning.
We believe that technology is a great tool, but it cannot, and therefore should not, replace quality instruction delivered by the teacher, or discovered by the student. Our students utilize these devices when directed by their teacher to enhance their learning.
Students learn how to creatively produce artistic visual arts near-masterpieces! They design incredible Christmas Cards and other pictures to share with our supporters and parents.
Students are lead through an exploration of different genres of music, learning about the history of each, and some fun facts. Our goal is for children to enjoy the pleasures of music and in the process gain a deeper understanding of it.
Mr. Hyte, our theater director, has worked as a professional director, and visual arts teacher in Phoenix for over 30 years. He has been named one of the best playwrights in Arizona for children’s theater. Through his direction, Bennett Academy has taken awards on state and national levels.
Students participate in Physical Education daily in order to develop their fine and gross motor skills, learn about sports, and the importance of keeping their bodies active.
With ample grassy space at Venture Site, our students have plenty of room to run, play, and work out. We are close enough to walk down the street and visit animals on a small property.
Do you know of a child living in our community who is disabled, (regardless of the severity of the disability), and who is in need of special education and/or related services?
Please call our school office so we can support you in making a referral and start the process to ensure the child has the support they need to succeed!
**You do not need to be related to the child to make a referral.
More information regarding Child find can be found at the Arizona Department of Education’s Exceptional Student Services website.
When a child is enrolled in school, one of the required forms is called the Primary Home Language Other Than English (PHLOTE). When one or more of the 3 questions on the PHLOTE form are answered with a language other than English or American Sign Language, the student’s AZELLA test history is looked up in an Arizona Department of Education database. If the student has a current AZELLA test from the Spring AZELLA Reassessment, then they are placed into the appropriate program for their level of proficiency. If the student does not have a current AZELLA score, then the student will be administered the AZELLA Placement Test.
When the AZELLA test shows that the student is not proficient in English, the student is supported with two hours a day of intensive specific instruction to bring the students’ reading, writing, listening, and speaking to a proficient level.
Please call our office or visit the Arizona Department of Education’s Office of English Language Acquisition Services (OELAS) website for further information.
