Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required
- Candidates should have a passion for teaching in the upper elementary grades
- Candidates must demonstrate an enduring love of youth, a love of teaching and learning
- Candidates may need a familiarity with the Spalding method of teaching writing, phonograms, and reading; or a willingness to be trained in and use these methods
- Candidates should demonstrate an understanding of Saxon Math, or a willingness to learn and teach this curriculum
- Candidates should have a high, warm, consistent energy so that students can tell the teacher loves them and the subject matter; this means modeling for every student love of neighbor and of learning
- Candidates should have strong oral skills, including the ability to present information in an engaging, way with pacing that moves quickly and effectively
- Candidates should have strong written communication skills, including the ability to create and post assignments with clear instructions, models, and rubrics
- Candidates should be professional in appearance and demeanor
The part-time Front Office Receptionist/Lunch Account Specialist will have roles and responsibilities that impact the daily happenings at Bennett Academy. This individual will need to embrace a strong work ethic and reflect a positive approach to all tasks as this person is the first person students and parents interact with in the office. Therefore the person must be FLUENT in both English and Spanish.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Keep all information system accurate (PowerSchool).
- Tracks and enters daily attendance.
- Assist with reporting behavior records
- Calls families regarding attendance and participation.
- Reports out on attendance daily including repeat absent students.
- Assist the Office Manager with grade-specific communication.
- Assist with community building events.
- Maintain positive relationships with faculty and families.
- Communicate and engage with families proactively and responsively with positive tone, clear answers, and quick turnaround.
- Identify roadblocks for family success and solve.
- Manage Lunch program records and assist in the lunchroom daily
- Administer Basic First Aid
As a member of Bennett Academy office staff, roll up your sleeves and assist in other key projects and workflow. This may include executing copying, mailing, inventorying, labeling, and translating.
Education and Professional Experience:
- High School Diploma required
- At least 1 year of experience in operations with customer service and/or office work.
Additional requirements:
- Highest level of trust and discretion.
- Experience with MS Office
- Committed to providing excellent customer service under all circumstances.
- Exceptional communications skills and the ability to build strong relationships.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and honest approach to collaboration, communication, teams, and community.
- Type of clearance:
- Must complete Arizona Department of Public Safety fingerprint clearance and background check.
Physical functions:
- Requires but is not limited to standing, sitting, repetitious hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching.
